"Is It What?" Closing reception at Hinge Gallery in Chicago, May 5th 2012, 2-5pm!

Come check out a really great group show curated by What It Is Gallery, featuring over 15 artists(myself included).

The piece I included is titled "Takhi", the Mongolian word for the Mongolian horse, from which this piece was inspired.  Its original form came from drawings from photos of the wild Takhi, which were then manipulated in Adobe Illustrator, extruded into a 3D object in Rhinoceros 4.0, and then flattened and printed on a lasercutter in cardboard.  After hand manipulating the pieces to create a variety of rich textures and visual relationships, the wild horse was reintroduced to the 3D world...

 Three of my pieces are currently being displayed down in the Chicago loop!  They are part of a group show, Quad Core, made possible by the ever amazing Holly Holmes and Tom Burtonwood who run the What It Is gallery in Chicago.  Normally a house gallery in Oakpark, What It Is will also be hosting regular shows in their new space at 23rd East Madison, Chicago, thanks to the Chicago Loop Alliance.  Quad Core will be up until the end of February, 2012, so check it out!
